Role: Test and Development Engineer
Location: Warwick, CV34 6TE
Hours: 37 hpw, between 08:00 and 16:30 Monday to Thursday, and 08:00 - 13:00 Friday
Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for testing and development? We are looking for a Test and Development Engineer to join our team in Warwick. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, conducting, and reporting on test and development activities for vehicles, bodies, and rigs to validate product designs. You will create test plans, configure loggers, collect and analyse test data, and generate detailed reports. Your work will ensure that Design Validation Plan (DVP) activities are completed on time and within budget, contributing to continuous improvement in test techniques and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create Test Plans: Develop detailed test plans, specify instrumentation requirements, and configure loggers to meet company or legislative standards.
- Conduct Tests: Execute internal and external tests, collect test data, and post-process results to support analysis activities.
- Generate Reports: Compile technical reports that clearly outline key characteristics and present salient points to upper management.
- Design Validation Plan (DVP): Ensure DVP activities are completed on time and within budget, providing technical advice and coordination on company projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of test techniques and capabilities, developing and standardizing test procedures.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with all levels within the company and with external suppliers/customers.
- Mentorship: Coach and mentor others in new topics, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with quality and environmental procedures, records, and documents relevant to the role.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of instrumentation setup and theory, experience with data analysis software, and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues. You should be proficient in executing internal and external tests, progressing DVP activities, and compiling technical reports. A degree in engineering or equivalent experience is essential, along with knowledge of automotive standards and legal requirements.
