The Olympus Midi

The Dennis Eagle team is proud to reveal the latest addition to its comprehensive fleet – the new Olympus Midi, a compact and versatile refuse collection vehicle (RCV) packed with industry-leading and best-in-class features that makes it ideal for both rural and narrow urban rounds.

The Olympus Midi redefines the 12-16 tonne category, helping fulfil the growing demand for smaller RCVs with high payloads. Three variants are available with capacities of 9.8 m³ (OL-MIDI 10), 10.8 m³ (OL-MIDI 11), and 11.8 m³ (OL-MIDI 12). Thanks to its wheelbase starting at just 3.25m (OL-MIDI 10) and a width of 2,350mm (DAF variant), the Olympus Midi offers outstanding manoeuvrability and a tight turning circle.

“Dennis Eagle’s new Olympus Midi continues our commitment to innovation, sustainability and efficiency in waste collection. It’s equipped as standard with a raft of features typically associated with larger, heavy duty Olympus RCVs,” explains Dennis Eagle’s sales and marketing manager, Lee Rowland. “With its compact size, advanced technology and industry-leading durability, the Olympus Midi is a welcome addition to the Dennis Eagle family and will fulfil our customer’s requirements in the 12-16 tonne segment.”

Seamless integration

Designed to be fitted on the most common 12t to 16t GVW chassis in the market place, our engineers have worked with chassis providers to ensure seamless integration and provide optimum packaging and efficiency of the vehicle and body. The Midi can be built on a range of chassis, including DAF and Renault, alongside other providers.

Top of its class

The sleek and contemporary Midi body is produced from hard wearing materials, including Hardox 400, ensuring it’s robust and corrosion resistant. An efficient design gives it a short rear overhang that is class-leading, reducing weight, improving manoeuvrability and allowing operators to maximise its unrivalled payload capacity for the segment. The Midi also boasts a best-in-category compactor speed of 17 seconds and the widest tailgate hopper in its class.

Efficient and versatile

The Midi can be specified with multiple bin-lifting configurations and has a maximum lifting capacity of 500kg. Ideal for 2- and 4-wheel waste collections, an integrated multifunction bin lift is recommended, with both the Terberg OmniDEL and OmniDEKA automatic bin lifts available as options, as is an open back version.

A configurable HMI display allows for easy management of key functions, such as bin lifter movements, integration of body weighing systems, diagnostics, rear camera integration and access to the Terberg Connect remote diagnostics system.

For maximum operational efficiency, single-person operation is available. Midi also offers pack-on-the-move technology that enables packing cycles to be completed while in transit, saving valuable time. With just two lubrication points for the body, maintenance is efficient, too.

EN1501 compliant

As with all Dennis Eagle products, safety is a priority. When fitted to the customer-specified chassis, the Olympus Midi features intuitive safety systems based on the company’s unrivalled knowledge of waste management operations. Fully compliant with EN-1501 and CE-approved, the Olympus Midi continues Dennis Eagle’s commitment to providing market-leading safe refuse collection vehicles. Ergonomically designed to ensure a comfortable and safe working environment, it features new LED lighting to ensure that operators and the vehicle itself are always clearly visible.
